PUMA Teamwear

The ultimate online, personalised product experience at The PUMA Kit Factory thanks to Go Eve.

PUMA's challenge: the One Stop Shop

PUMA aims to increase their share within the team and fanwear market globally. A market where consumers as well as retailers and sales representatives design sportswear for their clubs or teams. Previously, all these different target groups were served via separate applications. This is not convenient: it takes a huge amount of time to maintain all the separate systems, implementing changes is slow and, worse, the systems do not reinforce each other. PUMA also saw that synergy between the systems was needed to facilitate and realise the intended growth. They were looking for one platform, which serves everything: a One Stop Shop. The solution is Go Eve

Complete outfit flow

In general, PUMA knew what they needed. We translated that, together with them, into the right set-up and expansion of Go Eve. Developing the platform therefore went hand-in-hand with the customer: PUMA's wishes with our expertise. We think along and advise, so that together we achieve the best result.

An example of this is achieving the optimal user-journeyin putting together a complete PUMA outfit. It is now possible to design a combination of products - in PUMA's case: trousers and a shirt. This "outfit flow" in terms of UX and design, aims to make it as easy as possible to design, load, store and share entire outfits or product lines. This way, more products are sold.

3D configurator

The configurator we developed allows customers to easily put together the product themselves. The chosen product options are immediately visualised in a 3D model, which can be admired from all angles. The 3D technology and visualisation of partner 270 Degrees makes this possible.

This allows PUMA to visually display the visitor's chosen colours, logos, patterns, back numbers and names instantly. The designed jerseys and shorts can be viewed from all sides. In this way, the online product is almost tangible for the customer.

Business Manager

The business manager enables you to set the optimal product configuration. Based on your business rules, certain pre-sets or product properties are loaded. Also, certain configuration options can be shown or not shown at all. This allows the user experience to be personalised for each customer segment.

By integrating business rules into the 3D model, certain features of the product can or cannot be displayed for a particular customer. For example, PUMA can make extra shirt designs available for sales representatives or offer retailers a special discount. The full pricing structure can also be determined per market.

Webshop & website management

Magento Commerce is used to manage the webshop. To manage the website, WordPress is linked to the platform.

The platform is set up so that PUMA Kit Factory can display certain information or product features based on geographical data around the world, enabling global selling possible. For example, it is possible to display a different front-end for each country, or display different currencies. In addition, the platform also integrates seamlessly with the production process. In the background, information is stored in such a way that the factory can easily access logos, vector files or other product specifications. So the platform is very user-friendly not only for the customer, but also for the seller!

Tech-talk: front-end

The front-end of the platform is what the end users actually get to see. In other words, the "front end" of the platform. Go Eve's front-end was created in React as a PWA. React is a modern and fast technology. Among other things, it ensures that the site does not jump when a new page loads. It is also possible to refresh only part of the pages. This promotes user-friendliness and radiates quality towards the end user.

Tech-talk: data connectivity

The PUMA Kit Factory is an application of Go Eve that we as Proud Nerds are very proud of. But Go Eve is more than just the PUMA Kit Factory. Through our self-developed API gateway, the platform is prepared for the future. The API offers extensive possibilities for linking third-party systems and integrating (business) data. Think of marketing communication systems or your own CMS and ERP: the possibilities are endless!
