CPQ stands for Configure, Price, Quote — it’s software that helps companies configure complex products, instantly calculate accurate pricing, and automatically generate a quote. By automating these three steps, CPQ speeds up the sales process and significantly improves quote accuracy. During configuration, a CPQ system ensures only valid product combinations are selected and applies all pricing rules so that sales reps can quickly create a customer-specific offer that’s both technically correct and production-ready.
In other words: everything being quoted has already been validated and is ready to produce — thanks to integrations with systems like CAD (design software), ERP (production/inventory), PLM, and CRM. This results in a more efficient sales cycle, fewer errors in quotes, and a better customer experience.

Modern CPQ software provides a range of powerful functions to support complex sales processes and online lead generation. Below are the main features and how they are typically applied:
The “C” in CPQ stands for configure. It refers to the ability to assemble products with many variants or options using an intelligent configurator. CPQ software includes a product configurator that captures technical knowledge through rules and validations. This ensures all selected options are compatible and comply with product constraints. The sales rep (or customer) is guided step by step — often with visual support (e.g., 2D/3D images or models) to better understand the product. Thanks to these rules and guided selling, even non-technical sales reps and customers can correctly configure complex products without constant engineering support. All limitations and combination rules are managed centrally, so everyone works with the latest product knowledge.
Go Eve’s model manager allows integrating business- and product rules dynamically, interacting with a 3D model and changing the configurator’s user interface. It can handle complex configurations due to the rule engine, constrain setup, dependency manager and validation logic.
The “P” stands for price. It means that while a product is configured, pricing is automatically calculated based on predefined rules and pricing models. CPQ solutions feature extensive pricing logic and algorithms that consider bills of materials, cost prices, profit margins, volume discounts, customer segments, regions, currencies, and more.

Go Eve is equipped with many standardized pricing features and logic required for complex CPQ. Setup is done with the personalization manager.
Approval flows are often part of CPQ: if a quote falls outside of certain product margins or discount thresholds, management approval is required before it’s sent to the customer. This ensures that quotes are fast, accurate, and compliant with company pricing policies.
Go Eve has a built-in approval flow based on quote statuses such as received, accepted and cancelled. Quotes can easily be edited by altering a configuration.
The “Q” stands for quote. It refers to automatically generating quotes and supporting documents. With just a few clicks, CPQ tools such as Go Eve produce a professional, tailored quote complete with product descriptions, pricing, visuals, and terms. This is much faster and more accurate than manual quoting.
CPQ software can also generate BOMs (Bills of Materials), drawings, and technical specs. Some configurators can automatically generate 3D CAD files, drawings, and BOMs based on entered variables. Once the customer approves the quote, production data is ready to go. CPQ can also send documents directly to customers or internal systems, reducing lead time.
Go Eve’s platform can automatically generate print-ready EPS files, PDF document or tailored data structures send to external application.
Go Eve can even take the next step and have customers place a direct order with online payment after accepting a quote.
CPQ software is available in two main forms: offline (on-premise) and online (cloud-based). Each has its own strengths and trade-offs.
Offline CPQ (On-Premise)
Offline CPQ is a standalone application installed locally (e.g., on a sales rep’s laptop or company server), usable without internet. These are often used in field sales or remote areas with unreliable internet.
However, offline solutions require manual updates and risk data inconsistency if not tightly managed.
Online CPQ (Cloud)
Online CPQ is a web-based solution, accessible via browser by reps, dealers, or even end-customers. Major benefits are global access from any device, real-time pricing and visualization, workflow optimized with dealers and scalable.
